Lon Bromolson joined MODUS in 2016 as an electrical design engineer. Since then, he has grown into a trusted project manager with experience across higher education, commercial, institutional, healthcare, K-12, government, and specialty electrical projects.

His technical background includes energy distribution, power generation, fire alarm systems, arc flash calculations, breaker coordination, lighting systems, telecommunications, and construction-phase support.

Now based in Portland, Lon serves as MODUS's NE Regional Lead | Project Manager, providing local project leadership, relationship support, and day-to-day coordination for Maine and broader New England opportunities.

For Lon, the move to Maine is both personal and professional. He and his family were drawn to the region's strong sense of place, community values, and connection to the built environment. Those qualities align closely with MODUS's culture and the way the firm approaches its work.

Lon's goal is simple: build trust, support local partners, and help bring MODUS's full MEPT engineering resources to projects across Maine and New England.

Working with MODUS in Maine.

Answers to common questions about our local presence, engineering services, and project support.

What does MEP engineering include?

MEP stands for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering: the building systems behind heating, cooling, ventilation, power, water, and waste. MODUS also provides technology engineering, often called MEPT, along with lighting design, sustainable engineering, and facility planning.

Where is MODUS located in Maine?

Our Maine office is at 40 Lafayette Street, Suite 2, Yarmouth, Maine 04096, in the Portland area. Lon Bromolson is our Portland-based NE Regional Lead and Project Manager. Call 207-977-6115 or email lbromolson@modus-eng.com to discuss your project.

Who supports a Maine project beyond the local contact?

Lon leads local project coordination and client communication. The full MODUS team supports the work, with engineering disciplines and senior reviewers selected to fit the project scope, schedule, and technical needs.

Can MODUS evaluate an existing building before design begins?

Yes. Facility planning and existing-system assessments can help clarify equipment condition, capacity, maintenance needs, phasing, and infrastructure priorities before you commit to a design scope.

What types of projects can the Maine team support?

Maine clients can draw on MODUS experience in education, healthcare, commercial, government, and institutional buildings. Lon’s selected project experience on this page includes work in Iowa; those projects demonstrate the expertise supporting our Maine team, rather than representing completed Maine projects.
